    Ethan Lahoda

    Northern Power Founder and Director

    Coach LaHoda grew up playing every sport you could think of. He found lacrosse in 6th grade, and immediately knew it was the sport for him. He was a senior captain and all-state midfielder at Monarch High School, and a two time MCLA National Champion at Colorado State.

     

    Growing the game is his passion

    Once his playing career concluded, he took the leap to make lacrosse his full time job. In 2015, Coach LaHoda became the owner of the Rocky Mountain Rattlers, where he grew the program from 3 teams to 20 teams in the span of 5 years. Since then, he has built multiple youth and club lacrosse programs that continue to grow and flourish. Most notably, Coach LaHoda is the Director of Team 91 Northside, which draws players from all areas north of Denver for tournaments, events, and advanced training. Additionally, he coaches the 2027 boys 91 National team, and is also the Director of My Lacrosse Tournaments West, helping run multiple tournaments and events year round.

    He has coached at the high school level for 7 years, starting as the defensive coordinator at Thompson Valley High School. He was the head JV coach and varsity midfield coach at Monarch High School for two years before accepting the head coaching job at Mountain Range High School in Westminster. He has coached there for 4 years, and has led the program to a regular season winning record and two playoff berths in the program’s inaugural four years.

    He has been engaged in and inspired by lacrosse in Northern Colorado for many years, and looks forward to building something special with you all.

    Coach is a student of the game, and is constantly studying the top coaches, teams, and players in sports and business. He works hard to build development systems that help players, teams, and organizations reach maximum capacity and beyond.

    Building great people is his mission

    Leadership drives culture, culture drives standards, standards drive behavior, behavior drives the results and the experience. Team culture is central to how Coach LaHoda builds teams and how he operates his organizations. He believes that lacrosse is the best avenue to teach life lessons and build great habits and attitudes. His life’s work is predicated on preparing youth athletes to be the best they can be on and off the field, and strives to empower players to lead with courage, intention, and character. He is excited to bring new voltage to Northern Colorado Lacrosse.

    Ryan MacDonald

    Director of Lacrosse | Head Coach CSU Men's Lacrosse

    Coach MacDonald has a long history with the Colorado State Rams from 2005 – Present. He was a lethal offensive midfielder during his playing days and demanded the attention of opposing teams’ best defenders. Coach MacDonald was a natural leader who brought determination, passion, and an incredible amount of heart to the field. His combination of skill and leadership helped the Rams win the 2006 MCLA National Championship.

    Individually, as a Senior Captain in 08’, he was recognized as a Team Offensive MVP, RMLC 1st Team Midfielder, and was named to the MCLA’s All-America 2nd Team. He was inducted into the Class of 2019 Hall of Fame at Smoky Hill High School for his work on the field, as well as, his work off the field after graduation. In the offseason, he coaches all ages ranging from youth to the high school level for Team 91 Northside, as well as, the 2026 Team 91 Nationals Team.

    As a coach, leading by example, Coach MacDonald believes that hard work is requisite to greatness and that nothing worth having comes without a strong work ethic, both physically and mentally. He will hold you accountable, and push you to your limits to ensure that you become the greatest version of yourself.

    Coach MacDonald holds the idea of “Family” at a premium and believes that strong team culture is just as important as physical ability. He loves this game and puts his heart and soul into it every day. Coach MacDonald will do everything in his power to provide the tools and guide every athlete to become a great student-athlete and lacrosse player.

    Libby Swanson

    Northern Power Girls Director

    Libby Swanson embarked on her lacrosse journey in 2015 in San Diego, California, igniting a passion that defined her athletic career. With hard work and dedication, Libby emerged as a standout player, securing her spot as a four-year varsity starter and two-year varsity captain. Her leadership skills were evident as she served as her club team captain for three years, guiding her team with charisma and determination to multiple champion titles.

    Throughout high school, Libby amassed numerous awards, including three-time Varsity Overall MVP honors, two-time Club Team MVP recognition, and the prestigious First Team All-CIFSDS Award. Her leadership experience shone brightest as she led her team to the playoffs and a well-deserved victory in the Division 2 CIF Championship in 2019, a first in school history.

    Upon relocating to Fort Collins to pursue her studies in the STEM field, Libby continued to excel both academically and athletically. She joined Colorado State University’s Division 1 WCLA Lacrosse Team, where she balanced roles as Vice President and team captain for two seasons before stepping away due to an injury.

    Transitioning seamlessly from player to mentor, Libby embarked on her coaching journey in 2020, nurturing the next generation of lacrosse talent in Eastern San Diego. Her passion for the sport and dedication to player development soon led her to coaching for the local youth program in 2021, where she embraced the opportunity to cultivate a passion for lacrosse while fostering comprehensive skill development. Beyond that, she teaches players the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and the impact of exercise on the mind and body.

    In recognition of her unwavering commitment to growing the sport, Libby was elected to the board of the Northern Colorado Women’s Lacrosse Foundation, where she spearheads initiatives to expand girls’ lacrosse in the region by orchestrating impactful learn-to-play programs and community engagement events that resonate deeply with the local lacrosse community.

    Libby Swanson’s journey from accomplished player to respected coach and community leader is a testament to her passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the sport she loves. Her impact extends far beyond the field, inspiring generations of players to reach for greatness on and off the field.

    Brenden Wickersham

    Head Coach

    Coach Wickersham has coached with Northern Power for the past three years and brings a strong passion for helping athletes develop both their skills and confidence on the field. His experience within the program has allowed him to build strong connections with players while continuing to grow the game in the community.

    As a player, Brenden competed in lacrosse for eight years and finished his playing career at Mountain Range High School. His playing background gives him valuable perspective and knowledge that he now shares with the athletes he coaches.

    Outside of lacrosse, Brenden is beginning a career with Poudre Fire Authority, continuing his commitment to leadership and serving the community.

    Jared Houghton

    Coach Houghton has been coaching lacrosse since 2015 and brings a wealth of experience developing athletes at both the high school and club levels. He previously served as the offensive coordinator for Glenwood Springs High School before coaching with the Roaring Fork Swarm, and is now entering his third year coaching with Northern Power. His passion for teaching the game and helping players grow has made him a valuable leader within the program.

    As a player, Jared competed for the Fort Collins Vipers during high school before continuing his lacrosse career at University of Denver. After his freshman year, he transferred to Brigham Young University, where he continued playing club lacrosse.

    Outside of coaching, Jared enjoys spending time outdoors tending to his garden, fishing, and enjoying everything Colorado’s outdoors has to offer.

    Kris Meda

    Coach Meda brings 14 years of coaching experience and a long-standing passion for the game of lacrosse. Throughout his coaching career, he has focused on helping athletes develop their skills, confidence, and understanding of the game while creating a positive and competitive environment for players to grow.

    As a player, Kris competed for the Fort Collins Vipers, where he developed the foundation for his continued involvement in the sport. His years of experience both on and off the field provide valuable perspective and leadership for the athletes he coaches.

    Outside of lacrosse, Kris enjoys spending time outdoors skiing, golfing, and fishing throughout Colorado.

    Mark Anderson

    Coach Anderson brings coaching experience from his time with JV Vipers Lacrosse during the 2006–2007 seasons and has continued to stay connected to the game through his passion for developing young athletes and growing the sport.

    As a player, Mark competed at Cherry Creek High School from 2000–2004, where he built the foundation for his love of lacrosse and team competition. His experience as both a player and coach gives him valuable perspective in helping athletes improve their skills and understanding of the game.

    Outside of lacrosse, Mark enjoys spending time outdoors fly fishing, mountain biking, and skiing throughout Colorado.

    Corbin Randle

    Coach Randle is entering his first year of coaching and brings a strong passion for the game along with valuable competitive playing experience. He played lacrosse for Durango High School and also competed in elite travel tournaments, helping him develop a strong understanding of the game at a high level.

    Corbin’s competitive mindset and love for lacrosse allow him to connect well with players while helping them continue to develop their skills and confidence on the field. He is excited to share his knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport with the next generation of athletes.

    Outside of coaching, Corbin works as a welder and spends as much time as possible playing lacrosse whenever he’s not on the job.

    Savannah Brown

    Girls 5th/6th Grade

    Coach Brown brings two years of coaching experience with Northern Power and a lifelong passion for the game of lacrosse. Having grown up playing the sport from third grade through her junior year of high school, she also competed on traveling summer teams, gaining valuable experience in competitive lacrosse and team development along the way.

    Her background as both a player and coach allows her to connect with athletes while helping them continue to build their confidence, skills, and love for the game. Savannah is passionate about creating a positive environment where players can learn, compete, and enjoy the sport.

    Outside of lacrosse, Savannah has a unique competitive hobby — she is also a competitive pinball player.

    With eight years of youth coaching experience, Coach Duresky brings a strong background in player development and a passion for helping athletes grow both on and off the field. His experience working with young players has helped him develop a coaching style focused on fundamentals, teamwork, and building confidence in every athlete.

    Dylan played collegiately at Colorado Mesa University from 2012–2016, competing at the NCAA Division II level and gaining valuable high-level playing experience that he now brings to the sideline as a coach.

    Outside of lacrosse, Dylan enjoys spending time outdoors hunting and fishing whenever he has the opportunity.

    Taylor Paumen

    Coach Paumen is entering her second year of coaching and has already gained valuable experience working a variety of lacrosse camps, helping athletes develop their skills and confidence in a positive environment. Her passion for the game and enthusiasm for teaching make her a great addition to the coaching staff.

    Originally from Grand Junction, Taylor played lacrosse for 10 years, beginning at just 8 years old and continuing through high school. Her long-time involvement in the sport has given her a strong understanding of the game and a genuine passion for helping the next generation of players grow.

    Outside of lacrosse, Taylor loves spending time outdoors and enjoys any opportunity to be outside and active.

    Natalie Wiley

    With three years of coaching experience, Coach Wiley brings energy, passion, and a strong playing background to the program. Originally from Idaho, Natalie spent 10 years playing lacrosse and continued her career at both Boise State University and University of Idaho, where she competed at the collegiate level and continued to grow her love for the game.

    Outside of lacrosse, Natalie enjoys expressing her creativity through photography and pottery, and loves spending time outdoors fishing whenever she gets the chance. Her competitive spirit, creativity, and enthusiasm for the sport make her a valuable mentor for players both on and off the field.

    Kurt Bisnette

    With over 10 years of coaching experience across both the high school and youth levels, Coach Bisnette brings a deep passion for developing players and growing the game of lacrosse. He spent three years coaching high school lacrosse and an additional seven years working with youth athletes, helping players build both their skills and confidence on and off the field.

    As a player, Kurt competed at Hinsdale Central High School before continuing his lacrosse career at Colorado State University from 2004–2007. Throughout his playing career, he contributed in multiple roles including goalie, defensive midfielder, and close defense, giving him a well-rounded understanding of the game from every angle.

    Outside of lacrosse, family is at the center of everything he does. Three of his four children are already involved in the sport, and he enjoys spending time with his family, getting out on the golf course when possible, and still playing lacrosse himself whenever the schedule allows.

    Theo Mooney

    Assistant Coach

    Coach Mooney brings a diverse coaching background and a passion for youth sports development. He has coached soccer on and off for the past eight years and began coaching lacrosse last year when his children started playing in 5th grade. His enthusiasm for helping young athletes learn and enjoy the game has made coaching a natural fit for him.

    As a player, Theo competed in lacrosse from 8th grade through college, beginning at Denver East High School before continuing his career at Colorado State University. His long-time involvement in the sport gives him valuable experience and perspective that he now shares with the next generation of players.

    Outside of coaching, Theo enjoys biking and spending as much time outdoors as possible. During the colder months, he enjoys baking and building LEGO creations with his family.

    Erik Nilstoft

    Assistant Coach

    Coach Nilstoft brings decades of experience and passion for the game of lacrosse as both a player and coach. His coaching background includes working at the high school level beginning in 2003 and coaching with the Vipers U8 program in 2012, helping young athletes develop their skills and love for the game.

    As a player, Erik competed for five years at the varsity level before continuing his career internationally with the Eagles Tokyo team in 1995 and in Germany in 1996. He also played collegiately at Quinnipiac University and has continued to stay active in the game through events such as the Vail Shootout and most recently competing with ULAX in Fort Collins.

    Outside of lacrosse, Erik enjoys woodworking and spending time with his family. He has three children, all of whom share his love for lacrosse.

    John Meeker

    Coach Meeker brings three years of high school coaching experience and is entering his first season coaching youth lacrosse. His passion for teaching the game and helping athletes grow has continued to drive his involvement in lacrosse both on and off the field.

    Originally from Lakewood, John began playing lacrosse in 5th grade and continued throughout high school. He still stays active in the sport today by competing in an adult lacrosse league, allowing him to continue building his love and understanding of the game.

    Outside of lacrosse, John enjoys a wide variety of hobbies, with camping and fishing ranking among his favorites.

    Cameron Laird

    Coach Laird brings 15 years of coaching experience and a strong passion for developing athletes both on and off the field. Throughout his coaching career, he has worked extensively with youth programs and was honored with a Presidential Service Award for his involvement with Bridge Lacrosse and youth initiatives in the Dallas area. Prior to joining Northern Power, Cameron served as the Head JV Coach at Rocky Mountain High School and within the Poudre School District from 2018–2024.

    As a player, Cameron competed collegiately at Carthage College from 2014–2017 at the NCAA Division III level, where he continued to develop his knowledge and passion for the game.

    Outside of lacrosse, Cameron has recently become obsessed with golf, enjoys playing music, and is currently planning a wedding after recently getting engaged.

    Adam Fowler

    Assistant Coach

    Coach Fowler brings more than 15 years of youth lacrosse coaching experience and has built an impressive track record of success, including five youth state championship titles and appearances throughout his coaching career. His extensive experience developing athletes and building competitive teams has made him a respected leader and mentor within the lacrosse community.

    As a player, Adam competed at the high school varsity level and continued playing in adult club lacrosse, giving him a well-rounded understanding of the game that he now brings to the sideline as a coach. His passion for teaching fundamentals, teamwork, and leadership helps create a positive and competitive environment for athletes to grow.

    Outside of lacrosse, Adam enjoys spending time fly fishing and golfing whenever he has the opportunity.

    Christian Navarez

    Coach Navarez brings three years of coaching experience along with a strong background as a player and mentor for developing athletes. Having played lacrosse for 10 years, including three years at the collegiate level, he brings valuable knowledge of the game and a passion for helping players continue to grow both on and off the field.

    His experience as a long-time player allows him to connect with athletes while emphasizing skill development, teamwork, and confidence in a competitive environment. Christian is dedicated to helping players improve while continuing to foster a positive love for the game.

    Outside of lacrosse, Christian is currently in his senior year of college and also works at Medical Center of the Rockies when he is not coaching or attending classes.

    Cory Hughes

    Defensive Specialist Coach

    Coach Hughes is entering his second year with Colorado State University, and this will be his first year as Defensive Coordinator. As a player at CSU, Coach Hughes was a part of 4 consecutive RMLC Championships, and Back-to-Back MCLA National Championships (2012 & 2013), and went 6-0 vs the University of Colorado.

    His 2013 team defense currently holds the MCLA record for the least amount of goals scored in the MCLA tournament (seven total goals in four games). Coach Hughes is a former Assistant Coach at Columbine High School and, most recently, Head Coach at Jefferson Academy. Coach Hughes is a Club Coach for Team 91 Northside and Team 91 Nationals.

    Miles Davis

    Offensive Specialist Coach

    Coach Davis is entering his second season with the program. He graduated from The University of Mary Washington (UMW), Fredericksburg, Virginia, in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. Coach Davis began his collegiate lacrosse career as an attackman for Division I St. Joseph’s University from 2013-2014 and was named to the Northeast Conference Honor Roll. In the Spring of 2014, Coach Davis transferred to UMW. He was a starting attackman for three years and led the team in points and assists in his junior and senior seasons.

    Miles tied the single-season record for assists (34) in his senior season and finished his career as a top five-point scorer in three seasons. His honors include Dean’s List, National Strength and Conditioning All-American, Conference Player of the Week, United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Academic-All-American, and a North-South Senior Game Participant. Coach Davis is a Marine Corps Officer and he will report to the Training and Education Command in Quantico, VA after graduation.

    Chris Cerrigone

    Coach

    Coach Cerrigone is entering his second season as an Assistant Coach at Colorado State University. Coach Cerrigone grew up in Northern NJ, graduating from West Morris Central HS. He then attended Salisbury University prior to transferring to Rutgers University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture. As a player, Coach Cerrigone played three different varsity positions contributing to post-season play at West Morris Central HS. He then went on to play midfield/attack at D-III Salisbury University.

    After transferring to Rutgers University, he played for the North Jersey / Rutgers Lacrosse Club. Today he remains active in playing club lacrosse in men’s leagues and tournaments. As a coach, Coach Cerrigone has coached at various levels for over 25 years, most recently in youth lacrosse with the Noco Vipers, former Boys Head Coach at Rocky Mountain HS, and with Next Level Lacrosse running specialized individual and small group training. Coach Cerrigone is a Landscape Designer with a local landscape company and lives in Fort Collins.
