  • Develop proper hand positioning for catching and throwing.

  • Master basic cradling technique to maintain ball control.

  • Learn the scoop technique for effective ground ball pickups.

How it helps:

This session ensures players have a strong grasp of the most basic skills. By perfecting these fundamentals, players will gain the confidence to handle the ball under pressure and become more comfortable in-game scenarios.

Focus:

  • Dodges: Split, Roll, and Face Dodge

  • Shooting on the move

Goals:

  • Learn how to change direction and speed with dodges to beat defenders.

  • Practice shooting from different angles and with both hands.

How it helps:

Dodging and scoring are key components of offensive play. These drills will teach players how to create space for themselves and finish around the goal, preparing them for game situations in the spring.

  • Footwork and agility

  • On-ball positioning and body control

Goals:

Lesson 4 >>> 1v1, 2v2 Even Offense/Defense

Focus:

  • 1v1 and 2v2 offensive/defensive situations

  • Communication and teamwork

Goals:

  • Practice attacking and defending in even-numbered scenarios.

  • Develop communication and teamwork on the field.

How it helps:

In lacrosse, success often comes down to winning one-on-one and two-man matchups. This session will teach players how to apply individual skills in small-sided game situations, boosting confidence in actual games.

Individual Drill Videos and Progress Tracking

After each session, players will receive individualized drill videos to work on at home. Each video will focus on reinforcing key skills covered in the session. Players will be encouraged to track their progress, noting improvements in technique, speed, and decision-making. These drills ensure that players continue to grow outside of regular practices, putting them on the path to success by the spring season.

Program Benefits:

  • Fundamental Development: Players will leave this program with a solid foundation of lacrosse skills.

  • Skill Progression: From dodging to defensive footwork, each session builds on the last.

  • Lacrosse IQ: Players will develop a better understanding of offensive and defensive strategies.
